CULTURAL RESOURCES STAFF
The cultural resources staff at Summit Envirosolutions
has extensive experience in permitting and preparation
of cultural resource research designs, inventories, treatment
plans, and reports for a diverse
range of cultural resources as required by preservation
legislation. Summit’s staff of archaeologists, historians and technical
specialists have a strong working knowledge of the complex
system of laws and regulations
governing cultural resources discovery, evaluation, protection,
and mitigation. We are experienced in working with state
and federal agencies that have regulatory jurisdiction over these resources.
Summits staff
are conscious of the needs of a variety of clients, who
have included utilities, mining companies, housing developers,
and federal
land management
agencies.
Our personnel have extensive experience in California, Nevada, the Great
Basin, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Michigan and Iowa. Archaeological
specialties include historic archaeology and conservation, precontact
archaeology, geoarchaeology, stratigraphy, cartography, lithic technology,
all major artifact analysis, flotation, paleoenvironmental reconstruction,
human osteological analysis, faunal identification and analysis, ethnography
and Native American consultation.
Senior staff members coordinate and monitor the completion of all projects.
The Principal Investigator and Project Manager remain in over-all charge
while each supervisor and/or analyst completes specific tasks. Scopes
of work and schedules assure efficient task performance on-time submission
of deliverables. Because of the sensitivity of archaeological data and
the need for timely completion of projects, senior level staff members
will be in the field as needed. Most professional staff at Summit have
completed Mine Safety Hazards Training (MSHA) and Hazardous Waste Site
Operations for General Site Workers (29CFR1910.120(e)(3)(I) and refresher
courses as required.
