GEOGRAPHIC ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (GEMS)

GEMS is an Environmental Management Information System (EMIS)
decision support platform created by Summit for project managers, scientists,
engineers, and regulators. GEMS allows the user to acquire, store,
organize, query, trend, and visualize large amounts of soil, water,
noise, or air quality data. These data are traditionally entered into
spreadsheets or databases that are cumbersome to generate "on-demand" comparisons
and trend analysis. GEMS not only allows you to analyze the physical
and chemical characteristics of a site more efficiently, but it also
allows the user to generate report-ready tables, graphs, and figures.

Coupled with ArcView® GIS via the GEMS Extension for
ArcView and numerous other modeling, analysis, and visualization
software packages,
the user can characterize a site many times faster than
traditional methods by generating iso-concentration maps
(contours), model calibration
data sets, and 3-D visualizations of various mediums.
