REMOTE TELEMETRY SERVICES
As part of our constant effort to provide clients with evaluations
based on real-time data that minimizes management expense, Summit provides
telemetry services that allow site monitoring to be accomplished from
the office. The ability to collect data and control remediation systems
remotely provides greater flexibility for project tasks while reducing
the frequency and number of site visits.

Our telemetry systems allow instrumentation and control units installed
at the site to be accessed via modem or satellite. Once the link is
established, historical information is downloaded directly into a database
or GIS system, or current site conditions is viewed in real-time. For
remediation systems, components such as pumps and blowers can be adjusted
remotely and the results viewed in real-time. Telemetry is an integral
part of Summit's RealFlow® system which provides advanced aquifer
resource management combining telemetry and GIS.
Applications for telemetry include:
- Remote aquifer analysis;
- Wellfield management and water supply system monitoring;
- Control and monitoring of groundwater pump and treat systems;
- Control and monitoring of soil vapor extraction and air sparging
systems;
- Monitoring groundwater elevations and conditions; and
- Leak detection monitoring
Telemetry can provide significant cost savings on projects, and
improve the efficiency with which project tasks are completed.
In many cases, such as for wellfield management, the systems can
be "turn-key" operations where operation of the system
is transferred to our client.
